Our president – Gillian Nish
After making the decision to leave a successful career as the Executive Director of the Tourism Industry Association of Alberta in May of 1988, and much to the surprise of her loving family, President Gillian Nish returned to Lethbridge and started her own consulting business. In speaking with her, she reminisced about this moment with a heartfelt laugh, sharing that her family was pretty sure she had “gone off the deep end”. Such is the spirit of the true entrepreneur!
From this moment forward, the stage was set for the ups and down of being self-employed. With her passion to help people create successful businesses, and support her community, she went from a home-based business in 1988, to a bricks and mortar store front business in 1999. That year, she was awarded a government contract to deliver a Self-employment program to Lethbridge and its surrounding communities.
Since that time execuserv plus inc. has grown from one to three full time staff, along with eighteen contracted facilitators who share their expertise in their fields with our students. We ensure our facilitators are the best in their class and that they provide the most up to date information to our students. As of 2019, we have trained over 1600 entrepreneurs, many of whom have gone forward in their successful businesses.
Notably, throughout this time, President Gillian Nish has continued to offer various other services and programs and continues to share her expertise and knowledge in the community. When you mention her name, most people have either enjoyed hearing her straightforward, enthusiastic motivational speaking, or have appreciated the direction they received from her company’s various training programs or business consulting. She also continues to volunteer her time to various community endeavors.
